On October 12, a letter signed by Ontario Regional Chief Glen Hare was sent to the ministers of Indigenous Services and Crown Indigenous Relations, stating support for the collective as passed in COO Resolution 22/12A, Affirmation of First Nation Education Sovereignty in the response to the Interim Funding Approach & Support for First Nations with Schools Collective.
"Ministers, I look forward to receiving confirmation that your respective departments will move to the next phase of the work undertaken by the JETT, in which there is a clear mandate and staff with delegated authorities according to the guiding principles agreed to within a signed MOU," states the letter.
